Kulfi, Reimagined — The Story Behind Our Most Nostalgic Flavor
Every flavor on the Fresto menu earns its place, but Kulfi holds a different kind of spot — it's the one that makes people stop and say "I haven't had this in years."
Traditional kulfi is a dense, slow-simmered milk dessert, made by reducing full-cream milk for hours until it thickens and concentrates into something richer than regular ice cream. It's a recipe with real history — a dessert that's been made the same patient way for generations, long before "artisan" was a word anyone put on packaging.
When we set out to bring kulfi into the Fresto lineup, the goal wasn't to reinvent it. It was to make sure we didn't lose what makes it kulfi in the first place: that dense, milk-forward richness, the light cardamom warmth, the texture that's different from a typical gelato base. A lot of frozen treats that call themselves "kulfi-flavored" are really just vanilla with a different name on the label. Ours isn't — it's made the way kulfi is actually supposed to be made, just shaped onto a stick.
If you grew up with kulfi, we hope this one takes you back. If you haven't tried it before, it's worth being the flavor that surprises you — it doesn't taste like anything else on our menu, and that's exactly the point.
Come try it at any of our stores — ask us which batch is freshest that day.
